Matakana Dental Care
3 surgery rooms
Matakana Dental Care is a 3-chair state-of-the-art dental practice located just 50 minutes drive from Auckland CBD. Set-up by Dr Vivek Jain, Matakana Dental Care provides a full scope of general, preventative, and cosmetic dentistry in the heart of this picturesque village.
Near the architecturally-designed, vibrant, and stylish farmer's market, Matakana Dental Care needed to remain professional and cutting-edge while reflecting the carefully-considered aesthetics of the community hub. High-quality care and patient experience are at the centre of every decision Matakana Dental Care make, and for them, that begins from the moment someone steps in the door.
Rustic macrocarpa wood, soft tones, and lots of natural light give this modern practice a designer finish worthy of the location. The professional decor is just the beginning of the outstanding experience patients receive at this surgery.
Dr. Vivek Jain had been sharpening his skills for several years while working for a nationwide leading dental provider and had aspirations of setting up his very own dental practice. He needed a partner who could be entrusted to manage the project from start to finish while he continued to work. His vision was bold and standard uncompromising, so a solution provider with a proven track record and thorough approach was key.
Dr. Vivek Jain needed someone who could meet in the evenings outside of working hours to cover details and finalise decisions. Due to Dr Vivek Jain's requirements to continue finalising his term with his current employer, the partner needed to be someone who could apply confidentiality to the business-sensitive nature of setting up a new practice while being employed already. Also on the list of requirements was someone who had the knowledge of what's involved in setting up a brand new practice.
Those challenges aside, the location itself provided its own idiosyncrasies. The internal space was difficult to work with due to the angled walls and narrow areas, and it was important to Dr Vivek Jain that the natural light was maximised where possible.
The local aesthetic also played a part as behind the practice's location, a timber yard had been renovated by local architects to transform the area into a vibrant community-focused farmer's market. Mirroring the small-town charm found across New Zealand, the new Matakana Village is made up of independent stores, fresh food, and a small-town vibe that can be found less than an hour from Auckland. Dr Vivek Jain wanted to reflect this designer touch within his practice. Not an easy brief by any means but uncompromising vision is exactly where the team at Dentec excels.
After Dr Vivek Jain investigated multiple solutions, Dentec was chosen as the preferred partner due to the full package offering that allowed him to be completely hands-off while Dentec took care of the entire fitout.
This 3-chair dental practice was completed in stages starting with one full treatment room to begin with, allowing Dr Vivek Jain to begin his practice while the remaining rooms were completed.
Glass partitions were used between rooms to maximise the natural light and help make the space feel bigger. To achieve a design that aligned with the Matakana culture, locally sourced macrocarpa was used throughout the practice.
While all sterilisation rooms created by Dentec are designed to be fully compliant with AS/NZS 4187:2014 “Reprocessing of Reusable medical devices”, Dr Vivek Jain wanted to go over and above to create a state-of-the-art sterilisation room that featured stainless steel throughout.
The end result of this fitout is a practice that delivers designer aesthetic and leading technology to local patients throughout.
